Ready to Conquer the World

Hi I'm DIVA!!!

And that's exactly what I am.

I am outgoing, playful, and a little bossy at times, but extremely beautiful and exceptionally unique. For one, my fur coloring is a little different from any sheltie you've ever seen, and I have the softest, most beautiful ears in the world. All of the shelties are very envious of this.

It's kind of like that Christmas story about Rudolf. He was the reindeer with the light bulb nose. Well, just like he had that shiny nose, I have this lovely fur and large soft fluffy ears. All of the others might be envious of us, and make fun of us, but we are very special. Someday someone will find me and love me exactly for what I look like, and who I am.

In the meantime I'm waiting, and having fun with my foster family. Everyone seems to love me because I'm a puppy. My foster mom will sometimes carry me around like a baby, and let me lay on her lap. I love to be held!

But let me back up. You are probably thinking my life has always been wonderful. With a name like Diva, and these gorgeous ears, you would think I've been pampered my whole life.... and I'm quite old!!! Almost a year old... well... not quite, but I will be a year old eventually....

Anyhow, things were not always so great. It's hard for me to remember, but once I lived with another family. I do remember being hugged and loved, but I was also left alone sometimes. And sometimes they would get very angry with me. Maybe they didn't have enough time for me, and maybe I got into too much trouble. I do like to chew things, and people don't seem to like that. For some reason my teeth are always bothering me, and it feels REALLY GOOD to chew on things. I don't want to ruin things but sometimes I do. Oddly, sometimes my teeth fall out! It's really weird!!!

One day my family put me in a box and took me to a strange place. The first thing I noticed was that there was a lot of dogs barking. I thought, "Wow!!! Where am I? What is this place?" I was scared. I didn't want to come out of the box they had brought me in. It was a really tiny one. I remember this person, she had a lot of animal smells on her, and she was trying to pull me out, but my foot was stuck! And I started to whimper because I was scared. I didn't want to come out of the box, and my foot was getting twisted. I wanted my family and I cried out. I looked for them, but they were gone. I didn't know where they went. I haven't seen them again.

For awhile I lived in a place filled with dogs barking. I did have a little cot, and a nice blanket, and people would come up and talk to me. There were two little dogs in the cage with me. If you think I'm bossy you should meet them! They were always barking at me telling me what to do. It was really annoying.

One day someone came and took me away. She washed me and hugged me. Then she took me over to meet the shelties. They came over and sniffed. They looked at me like, "Who are you?" and "What are you?" I tried to tell them, "I'm a sheltie just like you." Look at my long legs, and my sheltie tail, and my beautiful sheltie face. But I'm not like them. There is a resemblence and there's some sheltie in me, but there's also something else. I'm something just a little bit more then sheltie.... a mix...

But I still made friends with them, and we played. Even though they were older, I let them know that I liked their toys, so I would be playing with them. Also, I liked their beds and I would be resting on them. Fortunately, they liked me too and didn't mind my assertiveness. I have been having a very nice time with my foster families. They tend to spoil me... but more then anything I am REALLY happy to not be in the place with the barking dogs. It was scarey there, and there was no one to hold me when I was frightened. I love people, but I'm tired of losing them.... I hope someone adopts me, and loves me enough to keep me forever.
